Its all fine in my view, and its called catering to a market. Melbourne Storm came to Melbourne, a city with 10 AFL teams, and have been successful with something like 4 flags in 6 years. Sydney has a mive population, and the AFL is simply providing a choice for the West Sydney residents. West Coast and Brisbane were established in the AFL in 1987 similar to West Sydney now, and have won 5 flags between them, a flag every 4 years and both have a strong following . Check out West Sydney's record in 22 years. I have no doubt the AFL as a product, will work in that market. Thousands of people, all AFL supporters from all over AUSTRALIA are transferred in their employment to SYDNEY each year. They can now settle in West Sydney and become members of the new club . Its a fantastic forward thinking move in my view !
