Why is my teacher still attempting to "convert" us?

The best advice that I can give you is that, especially if you are fiscally or socially or religiously conservative, you are going to have teachers like that. All you can do is just accept that you can't change it and try to present your ideas in your paper in a way that you think wouldn't be offensive to his ideals.
