Computer start up problem?

My Computer froze up on me this morning and the only way I could get out of it was to hold the power on in and force it off. Yes I know what a pillock, but what else could I do? Now when I switch on nothing happens. The power on light comes on but nothing else, no one bleep or the num lock coming on, nothing. I don't have a Vista 32 discovery disc until i can get my hands on one so any help would be appreciated
