Why did the Spanish want to conquer the Aztecs?

I am doing a paper report on the Spanish Conquer. I had a paper with the answers, but my teacher collected it. So, I am wondering why the Spanish wanted to conquer the Aztecs. I know for sure that one of the reasons was for gold and silver, now I need two more. Does anybody know the two other reasons?
