Can someone explain the Atkins diet to me? I don't get what all the publicity is over...?

eating loadsa meat my dad did it and when the doc tested his colesterol he said it was the highest he had ever seen in a living person!!!! don't do it! my dad is fine now luckily! he only did it for a month aswell!
